(Des Moines) Iowa House Democrats are proposing a tuition freeze at the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa for the next four years.
“This tuition freeze is accompanied by a corresponding budget increase to make sure they can afford it without compromising its regular services,” said House Minority Leader Jennifer Konfrst.
Konfrst says more than 400-thousand Iowans have an average of more than 30 thousand dollars in student loan debt.
