(Atlantic) Atlantic hosts Lenox in a boys’ non-conference basket game Friday night. The Trojans enter the contest with a record of 5-13, and the Tigers, a Pride of Iowa Conference member, are 10-10.
Atlantic Head Coach Dalton Franken says Gabe Funk is one player the Trojans will have to defend. Funk is averaging 22 points per game.
Coach Franken says Carter Reed is another of the Tiger’s leading scorers. The senior is averaging 15.9 points per game.
Franken is preparing a team that plays five out and is always screening, cutting, and moving.
Trojans’ sophomore Post Player Gavin McLaren is coming off a 17-point offensive performance against Harlan on Tuesday. Coach Franken says they will need another game like that from him tonight.
Colton Rasmussen leads the team in scoring with 505 points, for a 26.5 per game average; Gavin McLaren has 12.6, and Nolan Waters is averaging 9 points per game.
Gabe Funk leads Lenox, averaging 21.9 points, Carter Reed, 15.9, and Dawson Evans, averaging 10.4 points per game.
