(Des Moines) Record-high temperatures are possible later this week as the warming trend continues in Iowa.
“We will see temperatures across the state in the upper 50s and low 60s,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Andrew Ansorge. “These temperatures will challenge record highs across a portion of the state.”
Thursday’s high in Des Moines is forecast for 63. The record high for February 8th is 60, which was set back in 1999.
For Atlantic and the surrounding areas, today is mostly sunny, with a high of 54 degrees and a low of 39 degrees. The high temperature is forecast to reach 60 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday before cooling off to the low 40s and upper 30s for high temperatures on Friday and into the weekend.
