(Grand Junction) An Iowa woman is auctioning off her quilt to help the family of Ahmir Jolliff, the student who was shot and killed in the Perry school shooting earlier this month.
Ellen McElroy of Grand Junction made the quilt following the death of her son Arnold Thomas in 1981. McElroy says several stores value her quilt for over a thousand dollars. The auction will end today at 8 p.m.
The January 4 shooting claimed the lives of 11-year-old Ahmir Jolliff and High School Principal Dan Marburger. Six others suffered injuries.
Perry Elementary and Middle School returned to classes last week. The High School Students will start on Wednesday. Students will be let out early until further notice.
