(Adair Co) An Orient man was arrested for Sex Offender Registration Violation 1st Offense and on a warrant out of Rhode Island.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office says 60-year-old John Eric Robitaille was arrested on January 25th. Robitaille was convicted of three sexually based offenses in the state of Rhode Island. On July 26, 2023, Robitaille was issued an Iowa driver’s licenses and listed an address in Orient. On December 1, 2023, a nationwide extradition arrest warrant was issued by the State of Rhode Island for non-compliance with the Rhode Island Sex Offender Registry requirements. On January 25, 2024, Robitaille was taken into custody at his residence in Orient. He was held on $2,000 cash or surety bond on the Iowa violation and no bond on the Rhode Island warrant.
In other activity, the Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Jaime Emilser Cruz Perez, of Des Moines, on January 27th for OWI 1st Offense, Providing False Identification Information, Open Container, No Valid Driver’s License, and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability. The charges stem from an accident on Interstate 80 at the 79 mile marker when a semi driver reported a vehicle rear-ended them and then went into a ravine on the north side of the road. Cruz Perez was held in the Adair County Jail on $1,300 cash or surety bond.
The Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Taylor Marie Boucher, of Redfield, on January 22nd on a warrant for Theft 5th Degree. Boucher was held on $300 cash only bond.
The Adair Police Department arrested 27-year-old Austin John Worthington, of Adel, on January 21st for Theft 5th Degree. Worthington is accused of stealing an Iphone from a Frito Lay Inc. Employee at the Dollar General in Adair. He was held on $300 cash or surety bond.
The Iowa State Patrol arrested 59-year-old Todd Edwin Ross, of Minburn, following a traffic stop on January 26th for OWI 2nd Offense. Ross was held on $2,000 cash or surety bond.
