(Boone, IA) – The IHSAA has released new reports for the 2024 sports season with an update to soccer. In 2024, the IHSAA semifinals and State finals will be played in Des Moines and at Drake University.
This move to Drake will go for all four classes of IHSAA soccer. The games will be played at both Drake Stadium and Mediacom Stadium. Finals will take place at Mediacom Stadium, a multi-use facility for Drake and Des Moines Public Schools. Quarterfinals will still be played at the Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines.
IHSAA soccer administrator, Todd Tharp said, “The IHSAA is excited to add Drake Stadium and Mediacom Stadium to our relationship with Drake University. These venues will help us continue to create the best possible experiences for our student-athletes.”
The upcoming 2024 season is slated to begin on March 11th when teams are able to start practicing in Iowa.
