(Essex) An Iowa West Foundation, Home Repair program, helped a rural Essex resident address some urgent needs, keeping her in the home. The Southwest Iowa Planning Council recently implemented the repair grant, one of several different funding sources and programs helping residents in the region get needed home repairs.
Cynthia Samuel had some foundation issues, leading to freezing pipes and a deteriorating bathroom. While searching to correct the problem, Samuel connected with SWIPCO and quickly got on track to fix the issue.
SWIPCO helped Samuel get approved for funding to repair the foundation cracks to prevent the temperature issues from continuing. Once Corrected, updates were made to her bathroom’s flooring structure and plumbing. That was followed by renovation and finishing of the entire room.
