(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council addressed two business items before the closing session on Wednesday.
The City Council followed the Personnel and Finance Committee’s recommendation to reset the Police Sergeant’s salary at $35.90 per hour, or $73,989.90. This change is effective January 1, 2024. City Councilperson Elaine Otte explained the reasoning behind the decision.
Additionally, the City Council approved the funds transfer for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023-2024. City Clerk Barb Barrick explained.
The City Council then dismissed themselves from the chambers. It went into a closed session to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation, and that individual requests a closed session.
