(Ames, IA) – You may be returning those tickets for the upcoming game in Ames with #24 Iowa State taking on TCU in women’s basketball action. The game has been canceled due to TCU not having enough available players to play in the competition.
The Big XII requires that if a school does not have enough players to play in a game, that game will be forfeited and there will be no contest unless extraordinary circumstances exist. With no extraordinary circumstances, TCU has forfeited their next two games against #7 Kansas State tonight and #24 Iowa State this upcoming Saturday. Both Iowa State and Kansas State will pick up league wins and TCU will now have two losses. While the conference records will improve, their overall records will not improve per NCAA rules.
Iowa State returns to action tonight when they take on another Texas team, Texas Tech, at 6:00 p.m. The Cyclones head into the game tonight with a 6-0 conference record and have won 10 straight games in Big XII action.
