(Des Moines) Heavy snow and strong winds are part of a *second* major winter storm plowing across Iowa this morning. Iowa State Patrol Trooper and District #4 Public Information Officer Shelby McCreedy is out in the elements in Adair County.
Meanwhile, the road conditions are no better from Des Moines and east. The Department of Transportation says travel is not being advised on interstates and highways across the Des Moines metro area and all the way east to near Williamsburg on Interstate 80.
That’s Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Alex Dinkla. “Iowa 5-1-1” shows snow-covered roads for most of Iowa south of Highway 20.
Dinkla says to watch out for whiteout conditions.
