(Atlantic) The Cass County Road crews are out on the hard-surfaced roads, doing their best to keep up with the high winds. County Engineer Trent Wolken says they deemed it too dangerous to go out before sunrise. Wolken says the main focus now is getting the paved roads open.
Wolken says they will head to the gravel roads once they get the paved roads sustained. According to social media, Wolken says the Iowa Department of Transportation is not advising travel. He says they make a path, and twenty minutes later, it drifts over again, so that is what they are fighting today.
