(Perry, IA) — A vigil was held late last night in Perry, Iowa after a deadly shooting took the life of a 6th grader at the local high school. In a time of darkness, resilience was the message.

The shooting happened yesterday during the first day back for students at Perry High School. There are also a handful of gunshot victims who are in the hospital. The 17-year-old shooter, who is a student at Perry High School, took his own life.
