(Perry) Mitch Mortvedt, Assistant Director of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, identified the suspect in the active shooting at Perry High School this morning as 17-year-old Dylan Butler, a student at Perry High School.

Mortvedt said at 7:37 a.m., law enforcement responded to an active shooter event at the Perry High School.
Mortvedt said Dylan Butler was armed with a pump action shotgun and a small caliber handgun. Butler had made several social media posts in and around the time of the shooting. Law Enforcement is working to secure those pieces of evidence. All evidence suggests Butler acted alone.
