(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors will hold a public discussion at 11:00 a.m. today regarding a proposal to enter into a General Fund Loan Agreement for the $2.8 million Courthouse HVAC project. The supervisors are expected to vote on the resolution later in the meeting.
Audubon County Board of Supervisor Chairman Doug Sorensen says this is an avenue the county is taking to secure a loan for the project.
Sorensen says the proposed financial method is a way to borrow money and pay down the debt out of the general fund over ten years without a debt service levy. He says the payment would be around $200,000 per year, similar to budgeting a repair expense from the general fund.
This is one of many topics on the supervisor’s agenda this morning. The Board will approve the 2024 holiday closings, elect a Chair and Vice-Chair for 2024 and other appointments, set meeting dates and times, set mileage rates, and hear from John Hansen, who will discuss Vault Cleaning.
The Board will also discuss and act on rescinding a motion to accept the Secondary Roads Superintendent’s resignation. The Board will wrap up the meeting with a discussion on the HVAC kickoff meeting.
