(Stillwater, OK) – The Iowa State Cyclones were down by as much as seven points in the game over Oklahoma State and were able to come back and win 76-68 for their seventh straight win. This is the Cyclones’ 37th all-time win over the Cowgirls as Iowa State stands just one game behind in the series at 38-37.
Leading in the game for Iowa State was freshman Audi Crooks as she knocked down 21 points and seven rebounds as she went 9-14 from the field. This is the third career 20-point game for Crooks. Behind the freshman was Addy Brown with 20 points and nine rebounds as she also dished out five assists. She was just short of continuing her streak of double-doubles with now six. Arianna Jackson was also able to put down 14 points and grab four rebounds. Isnelle Natabou also pulled down four boards while earning 10 points on the night for her fourth 10+ point game this season.
Anna Gret Asi also put down a game-high 27 points while also hauling in four rebounds. Stailee Heard was also able to knock down 13 points on the night as Hannah Gusters followed right behind her with 12. The Cyclones held the Cowgirls to 37.7% from the field while also keeping Oklahoma State to 35.7% from the perimeter. Iowa State also dominated in the paint, outscoring the Cowgirls to 40-18.
Tonight’s game also marked the fourth-straight game for Iowa State for four Cyclones to score double-figures. This is also the Cyclones’ seventh-straight Big XII opener win.
Iowa State will take on Kansas this Wednesday, January 3rd at home. The tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
