(Atlantic) Lucy Scott scored 22 points to lead Lewis Central past Atlantic 59-27 in girls’ basketball on Friday at Atlantic.
The Trojans trailed by a point 13-12 at the end of the first quarter; however, the Titans got away from them in the second frame, outscoring the home team 25-5, racing to a 38-17 lead at the break. Scott poured in a heavy dose of three-point shots, with four in the first half and two more in the second.
Lewis Central led 40-23 after three and finished the game with nine fourth-quarter points, holding the Trojans to four.
Seven players scored for the visitors. Besides Scott’s 22, Macie Vetter and Anna Strohmeier scored nine, Sydney Thein, 8, Avery Hanafan, 4, Makenzie Stephens, 3, and Addison Holt and Kendall Mings chipped in two.
Paytn Harter led Atlantic with 12, Maddie Richter, 7, Zoey Kirchhoff, Peyton McLaren, Claire Pellett, and Addie Freund chipped in 2.
Atlantic travels to Shenandoah on Tuesday night. Lewis Central plays Gretna East at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.
