An Iowa Medical Helicopter Flight Was Forced To Land When A Bird Crashed Through The Windshield And Hit The Pilot

(Sioux City) The pilot flew a Wings Air Rescue from Sioux City to a Storm Lake Hospital to pick up a patient. The Pilot, Troy McCormick, was hit in the head by what he believes was a duck that smashed through the windshield.

It was reported the helicopter went out of service for repairs. The Wings Air Rescue pilot says he was dazed but not hurt.
