(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors continued their discussion for the budget amendment request from the Audubon County Conservation Board. The Conservation Board is seeking an additional $337,000 to finish the cabin project at Littlefield Park.
Audubon County Board of Supervisor Chairman Doug Sorensen says the additional cost is for the rock, sidewalk, and well.
Sorensen says the discussion centered around where they started with the budget, where they are now, and how they got there. He says the supervisors decided to add another $290,000 to the budget to complete the project and get it all operational this spring.
The additional dollars are coming out of the wind turbine fund pulled forward. He says the account has around $5 million targeted for upcoming projects.
The project includes six single-family structures, about 14×46 feet, sleeping six people. The seventh will be a more extensive, lofted cabin with an occupancy of 12 to 14 people.
