(Washington DC) — Senator Rand Paul is credited with coming to the aid of a choking fellow senator.
The Kentucky Republican was present at a lunch event in Washington Thursday when Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa began to choke on her food. Paul performed the Heimlich maneuver on his fellow GOP lawmaker allowing her to breathe normally again.
Ernst later shared her thanks to the Kentucky senator on social media.
