(Cedar Falls, IA) These teams earned a chance to head to the UNI-Dome this upcoming Wednesday, November 8th as they will battle for a chance at the State Championship. The games are listed below.
Winfield Mount Union (11-0) vs. Bishop Garrigan (10-1) @ 10:00 a.m.
The Winfield Mount Union Wolves are coming off a win over Don Bosco, a team that beat them in the quarterfinal the previous season. Jake Edwards leads the team in passing yards with 1,461 as he has gone 70-123 for 25 touchdowns. The Wolves are led in the running game by Cam Buffington with 1,326 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns. Defensively, Abram Edwards and Cooper Buffington lead the team in sacks with 11.5 and 11 respectively. For Bishop Garrigan, the Golden Bears are coming off a 26-16 win over the CAM Cougars. The Golden Bears are led by Tate Foertsch in the passing game as he has gone 66-114 for 1,030 yards and 17 touchdowns. Caden Roethler leads in the running game with 963 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Keaton Helleseth leads in the defensive game in sacks with eight and Ethan Marso leads in tackles with 38 overall this season. They will be battling it out in the UNI-Dome this Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Bedford (11-0) vs. Gladbrook-Reinbeck (10-1) @ 1:00 p.m.
The Bedford Bulldogs are coming off their Thursday night win over Lenox 36-24. Bedford is primarily a rushing team as they are led by Garrison Motsinger and Silas Walston. Motsinger has 1,138 rushing yards for 22 touchdowns while Walston has 729 yards for 16 touchdowns. The Bulldogs are led by Dalton Swartz with 74.5 tackles and are followed by sack-leader Izaak Dukes with 17 sacks and 72.5 total tackles. Moving to the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels, they just beat Clarksville 32-20 in their quarterfinal matchup in a rematch from the regular season after losing to Clarksville 38-36 on October 6th. Isaac Clark leads the team in the passing game with 1,531 passing yards and went 84-142 for 28 touchdowns. Clark is also their leading rusher with 536 yards and 14 touchdowns. Hudson Clark and Drew Eilers each have 31 receptions with over 500 yards receiving this year. Austin Vaverka with 79 tackles and with 73 tackles is Drew Eilers and 10.5 sacks this season. They will be taking on one another this Wednesday in the UNI-Dome at 1:00 p.m.
