(Cass County) Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken updated the Board of Supervisors on current bridge and culvert projects this morning.
Wolken said they did a pour for the deck of Bridge #380 near Anita on Friday and they have three more pours to go.
Four beams were set yesterday on Bridge #319 on G30 west of Atlantic, four beams are going to be set today (Tuesday) and four more tomorrow (Wednesday). Wolken said there is still a lot of work to do to get that bridge decked. Supervisor Steve Green asked if there is a possibility that this bridge might not get poured with the colder temperatures.
Wolken said their plan is to take a lot of the other bridge crew and now concentrate on getting this bridge done. (Photo below is Bridge #319 – Photo at top is Bridge #380)
Wolken said the concrete was finished on the box culvert on 730th last Thursday and that one is on its way to being finished. They are still removing the old structure for the box culvert northeast of Cumberland and getting that one ready to pour and they have poured half of the floor for the box culvert on 720th.
In other news from the Supervisors this morning, the board approved a lease agreement for storage space on the east half of the steel frame shop by the Willow Heights facility at $500 per month. The Board approved the appointments of Carol Seddon and Denise O’Brien to the Cass County Food Policy Council. And, the board discussed proposed capital improvement projects that include updating the Secondary Roads sheds; improvements at the Hitchcock House and Cold Springs Park; and the Courthouse boiler and windows.
