(Audubon) The Audubon School Board is beginning the process of hiring a new superintendent of schools.
Last week, Audubon and Coon Rapids-Bayard Shared Schools Superintendent Eric Trager announced his retirement after nearly four decades in education, almost all served in the Audubon School District.
He has spent 38 years in education, 36 years in the Audubon School District, and five years serving as the shared superintendent in Audubon and Coon-Rapids-Bayard. He taught in the district for 23 years, high school principal for eight, and superintendent for the past five years. His retirement is effective on July 1, 2024.
The School Board has scheduled a work session for Thursday, October 25, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room in the High School to discuss options for transitioning to a new superintendent.
