(Atlantic) Jennifer McEntaffer, Executive Director of the Cass-Atlantic Development Corporation, gave a presentation to the Atlantic City Council Wednesday on industrial development progress.
McEntaffer said she met with employees of MAHLE after plans were announced to relocate a large majority of its bearing manufacturing line in Atlantic to other MAHLE Engine Components facilities by April 2025.
McEntaffer said she attended a meeting at Iowa Western Community College to discuss what was going to replace the Design Technology program. She said nursing and CDL training was top ranked and last she hear they were moving ahead with the CDL training.
McEntaffer noted that they have a solid prospect with a large manufacturing business looking to expand in western Iowa.
McEntaffer said a local business is also looking to expand their footprint in Atlantic, so she found three good parcels of property that would work for them, and two individuals are looking for downtown locations.
