(Iowa City, IA) – Hawkeyes’ Cooper DeJean and Nick Jackson earned their recognition by the Big Ten today. This is the second time that two Iowa football players have earned Big Ten recognition this season. DeJean was named as the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week and Jackson was named as the Co-Defensive Big Ten Player of the Week in their 26-16 win over Michigan State.
Nick Jackson had 10 tackles in the last game over Michigan State and even registered double-digit tackles in the last two games. He is fourth in the Big Ten in tackles this season.
Cooper DeJean earned the spot after his 70-yard punt return with under four minutes left in the fourth quarter for a touchdown. The Iowa native is also leading the Big Ten in punt returns and is 12th nationally, being just one of 18 players this season to have a punt return a touchdown.
Iowa (4-1) will take on Purdue (2-3) this Saturday at home with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
