(Ames) Iowa State graduates are trying to become a union. The advocacy group Graduate Student Voice is looking to unionize after students became concerned with health and safety following the pandemic. Since the university pays the students, they are considered public employees under the state’s law, which affords them to form a union. They seek signatures to petition the Iowa Public Employment Relations Board for approval.
