(Des Moines) Temperatures are forecast to reach 90 degrees today, which is 18-degrees above normal. State Climatologist Justin Glisan says there are some benefits that might come with this unseasonal stretch of hot weather.
Glisan says they’re still looking for the state’s first killing freeze around the middle of October for northern half of Iowa, then a couple of weeks later for the Southern half.
