(Audubon) After dropping their opening game to CAM, the Audubon Wheelers football team has notched two straight wins and heads into Friday night’s game with district foe St. Edmonds with a 2-1 record and 1-0 in district play.
Audubon Head Coach Sean Birks says they learned they were not shored up in some spots in the week one loss to CAM.
Aaron Olsen and Evan Alt are two primary playmakers for the Wheelers, with 319 and 317 yards, respectively. However, others are starting to come into their own, starting with new squad member Austin Christensen.
Coach Birks says the offensive line is built around many new players, now starting to jell.
Next up for the Wheelers is St. Edmond. The Gaels are led by JT Laufersweller, who has thrown for 747 yards and ten touchdowns. Coach Birks says the Gaels are the most challenging scout they’ve had so far this season.
The kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. at Audubon.
