(Des Moines, IA) — Testimony has been allowed to continue in the first Starts Right Here murder trial. It follows a halting effort by defense attorneys on Tuesday to declare a mistrial. Preston Walls’ defense team at one point objected to one police officer’s testimony, referring to Walls as a “bad guy”, however a motion to declare a mistrial was withdrawn. Police say security footage backs the case against Walls. The teen stands accused as the trigger man in connection with the deadly school shooting in January.
