(Undated) This week’s U.S. Drought Monitor Map shows new areas of extreme drought in Northeast Iowa and an expansion of severe drought across Northern Iowa. There’s still extreme drought in Southeast and a small part of Western Iowa. Parts of Central, Northwest, and Southwest Iowa that saw heavy rain a couple of weeks ago are still near-drought, with a few drought-free patches.
