(Corning) Southwest Valley Schools is one of hundreds of school planning to use an app as part of the Governor’s School Safety Initiative. The app is called Safe and Sound Iowa.
Southwest Valley Schools Superintendent Chris Fenster says students, teachers, and parents can post anonymous tips on potential safety risks.
The app is free and open to both public and private schools. About eight-hundred schools are planning to promote it this year.
After submitting a report, watch for follow-up questions. The more information you share, the more effective the response can be to your report. Safe-Sound Iowa will send your report to the appropriate school and law enforcement officials to verify the information was received, and a reply was made.
