(Ames, IA) – Lindsey Ubrun is returning to Iowa State to serve as the Cyclones’ softball assistant coach after spending six seasons at Wagner College. While at Wagner, she helped the Seahawks earn their most conference wins since 2007 and saw her program reach top ten program-hitting records.
Before Wagner College, she also served as the assistant coach at Florida Gulf Coast for two seasons while helping that team also earn top ten program-hitting records. She served at Iowa State from 2014-16 and is now returning to her former program. “I can’t wait to get started and help build on what Coach Pinkerton, his staff, and student-athletes have developed,” said Ubrun. She formally served as the infield instructor and recruiter for the Cyclones as they hit .325 overall and had 476 hits under her direction, the most in Iowa State school history.
She started off playing while at Maryland and finished in Columbia with a .313 batting average throughout her collegiate career with 40 home runs and 164 RBIs. She eventually graduated from Mizzou after playing in the 2009 Women’s College World Series.
