(Iowa City, IA) – The University of Iowa continues to pile up the football watch list accolades. Former Lewis Central Center, Logan Jones was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List alongside tight ends Erick All and Luke Lachey that were named to the John Mackey Award Watch List.
Logan Jones was on the Iowa offensive line after being on the defensive line as he has helped the offense average 94.8 yards per game in the rushing game. Jones has big shoes to fill as former Hawkeye, Tyler Linderbaum, received the Rimington Trophy in 2021. The trophy goes to the nation’s premier center in college football named after center, Dave Rimington.
Dave Rimington played for the University of Nebraska from 1979-82 and was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft as the 25th pick in 1983. He was a First-Team All-American in 1981 and 1982. He is the only lineman in Big Eight Conference history to earn Big Eight Player-of-the-Year and the Big Eight Offensive Player of the Year.
