Gettys noted that HomeServe provided statistics that stated close to 80-percent of homeowners that were spoken to believe there should be more education about who owns what and ways to prevent repairs. Close to 60-percent of homeowners have had some type of emergency repair, whether it be sewer or water, in the past year. And, 40-percent of American homeowners couldn’t withstand a surprise emergency bill for this type of bill.
In other activity, the Council approved the appointment of Paul Bruck to the Tree Advisory Commission for a three-year term to expire May 16, 2026.
