(Ames, IA) – Current Iowa State quarterback Hunter Dekkers is accused of gambling on more than 400 games. The 21-year-old placed twenty-six bets on Iowa State athletic events, one of which includes a bet on the football team that he plays on. However, he did not play in the game that he bet on for the Cyclones. He plans to plead not guilty to the gambling charges. Dekkers is not alone in these accusations as Iowa State University has seen 15 of its athletes flagged by the NCAA. He is likely to be suspended and would then lose eligibility under NCAA rules.
