Driver Charged in Decatur County Crash

(Lamoni) A Ringgold County man faces charges following a single-vehicle crash in Decatur County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 12:33 a.m. on Friday at Highway 69 and State Street. An eight-year-old passenger suffered injuries in the accident. The driver, 34-year-old Edward Robert Daily of Benton, was charged with OWI-1st Offense.

The Iowa State Patrol says Daily was driving a 2018 Sierra GMC pickup northbound on Highway 69, left the roadway, struck a mailbox, entered the east ditch, struck a culvert, overturned, and came to rest on its’ top.

Mercy Air EMS transported the child to Mercy Hospital.
