(Davenport, IA) — Iowa is suspending a historic tax credit awarded to the owner of a building which collapsed in Davenport. The state Economic Development Authority says pending lawsuits against Andrew Wold related to the collapse are their reason for pulling the 900-thousand dollar tax credit given to him to upgrade another building he owns in Davenport. Wold is being sued by former tenants, a masonry company, and others over The Davenport apartment building collapse on May 28th that killed three people. The city is behind one of the lawsuits seeking reimbursement for tearing the remains of the building down.
