(Audubon) The Audubon City Council is beginning the process of adopting a rental housing ordinance. On Monday, the council set a committee to proceed with the ordinance.
City Clerk Joe Foran says the city is considering an ordinance change requiring landlords to register. Foran says the registration fee has not been determined.
In June, the City Council passed the commercial registration of vacant buildings.
According to the Iowa League of Cities, many cities conduct routine inspections on a three-year cycle.
