(Omaha/Valley) The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for extreme western Iowa until 9:00 a.m.
The counties in the watch area include Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, Shelby, and Woodbury.
Forecasters say strong to severe storms will continue throughout the area until around 10:00 a.m. Large hail is the primary threat, but damaging wind gusts are also possible.
