(Iowa City, IA) – Erin Doud-Johnson has been elevated to assistant coach for the 2023-24 season from head coach Renee Gillispie’s announcement. Doud-Johnson is a Hawkeye alumni as she played with the Hawkeyes from 1998-2001. She appeared in 194 games and 117 starts with 92 career hits. She was part of the success in the early 2000s as she was part of the team that earned the Big Ten season title in 2001, the first in Iowa Hawkeye history.
Doud-Johnson has helped coach six All-Big Ten selections under her volunteer assistant coaching position since 2019. The Hawkeyes finished last season with 35 wins which is the most in over 14 years.
Before she came to Iowa, Doud-Johnson was the head coach at Cedar Rapids Prarie from 2017-19. Not only did she record the most successful season in its history with a 29-12 record, but she also compiled a 57-25 record overall.
