(Denison) Iowa State Patrol Trooper and District #4 Information Officer Shelby McCreedy says we are in the midst of the 100 deadliest days on our roadways.
Trooper McCreedy says as of Tuesday morning; there were 183 fatalities across Iowa for the calendar year 2023. This is 21 more than this time last year.
McCreedy says every crash, except for wildlife, occurs because someone made a choice.
Trooper McCreedy says the deadliest 100 days of the year begin around Memorial Day Weekend. She says historically; there are numerous reasons for this. Increased traffic on the roadways, including Teen drivers, with a higher fatality rate during this time of year.
