(Undated) This week’s U-S Drought Monitor shows Iowa slipping deeper into drought. Nearly all of Iowa is abnormally dry or in some form of drought. Three areas are in extreme drought, southeast Iowa, northwest Iowa near Sioux City, and southwest Iowa, near Council Bluffs. Iowa’s Great Lakes region is the only spot not in drought near the Minnesota border. Today’s report does not include recent rainfall.
