(Washington, D.C.) — Iowa’s two U.S. Senators are proposing a bill inspired by a recent Supreme Court decision. The court ruled in favor of California’s Proposition 12, which regulates certain state livestock practices. Republican Senator Chuck Grassley says the EATS Act would prevent states from impeding ag trade from other states. He and fellow Republican Senators Joni Ernst of Iowa and Roger Marshall of Kansas are backing the bill. The news comes as California has announced a six-month delay in implementing Proposition 12 out of supply chain concerns.
