(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors held a conference call with Attorney John Danos, representing Audubon County on urban renewal issues. Audubon County Supervisor Chairman Doug Sorensen said the call centered around Tax Increment Financing Rebate for the new Hamlin Feed Mill, currently under construction. Sorensen says the supervisors have a gentlemen’s agreement with the Mill halfway to completion.
Sorensen says the Mill will create 20-22 new jobs. He says the concern is where to house twenty to twenty-two new families in Audubon County. However, Sorensen may have an answer to the housing issue.
The Supervisors discussed this idea with Danos.
Danos said he had never heard of any other county doing something like this to address housing issues. Danos thinks the idea will work for Audubon County.
A reminder The Audubon County Courthouse will close this afternoon for an active shooter training exercise.
