(Glenwood) A juvenile remains at large following an incident in Glenwood early this (Tuesday) morning.
The Glenwood Police Department says at approximately 12:08 a.m., Officer Jacob Power performed a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of 9th Street and Vine Street for an equipment violation. During the encounter with two juveniles, Officer Power was given a false name and date of birth for the driver. After Officer Power was unable to locate driver’s license information for the driver, and because of recent vandalism in the area, he requested and was granted a consent search of the vehicle. During the search, a jar containing marijuana was discovered.
Shortly after the discovery of the marijuana, the two juveniles attempted to flee on foot from officers and a foot pursuit ensued. During the foot pursuit, Officer Kammerer was assaulted by one of the juveniles and the juvenile was able to escape. A perimeter was established and Glenwood Officers were assisted in the search by the Mills County Sheriff’s Officer, Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office and the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
The juvenile remains at large.
