(Griswold) The Griswold School District is searching for a couple of teaching positions and made changes to the lunch payment system and nutrition prices at Monday’s board meeting.
Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs says a Middle/High School Special Education position is open, but they can get by without it if they cannot find someone to fill it. However, the main priority is finding a Guidance Counselor for the 2023-2024 school year.
Griswold School District parents have two options to pay for various activities, including lunch tickets, either in-person or online. Henrichs says JMC is the name of the school’s management system. He says this is a program where parents can check their child’s grades; teachers use it to take attendance and various other things. Additionally, on Monday, the school Board approved JMC as the vendor for parents to pay for lunch tickets online. Dave Henrichs says there will be a $4.00 convenience fee if parents use this payment method.
Henrichs says the student lunch prices for the 2023-2024 school year will remain unchanged. He says the price for adult lunches will increase from $4.05 to $4.85. Henrichs says the amount the school charges for adult meals must equal the amount received for reimbursable lunches, which is $4.84.
The board also approved the purchase of a truck for $30,000 to be used by the custodial staff.
