(Council Bluffs) One person suffered minor injuries after a tire struck a vehicle in Council Bluffs this morning.
The Council Bluffs Police Department says the incident happened at 9:46 a.m. at the 2.2 mile marker of the I-80 westbound express lane. An unknown eastbound semi lost a trailer tire, which bounced into the westbound express lanes, striking a Honda CRV. The westbound express lanes were shut down, with traffic being diverted to the local lanes. The roadway was reopened at 10:35 a.m. The driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries.
The Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa State Patrol assisted the Council Bluffs Police Department.
