Iowa Pharmacy Association Battles Pharmacy Benefit Managers

(Des Moines, IA)  —  The Iowa Pharmacy Association is going to battle against the nation’s top Pharmacy Benefit Managers or PBMs.  Seth Brown from the Iowa Pharmacy Association says those PBMs are CVS-Caremark, Express Scripts, and Optum RX.

Brown says PBMs were formed to negotiate lower prices but have failed.   He says the issue is picking up steam, with several other states forming chapters of the PBM Accountability Project.
