(Guthrie Center) Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright says he can see the “light at the end of the tunnel,” referencing the completion of the new jail facility.
Sheriff Arganbright says his office, the Civil Clerk, and all the deputies, including the Chief Deputy, have moved into the new facility. He says the jail inspection will take place on June 14, and when the inspection is finalized, and everything is good to go, the inmates will be moved to the new facility.
The new set-up separates the Civil Clerk and inmate traffic and meets state code.
The new facility includes a new Sheriff’s Office and jail addition to the courthouse, and improvements to the parking lot. The 14,000-square-foot addition provides improved inmate capacity to address classification and segregation requirements. The new building will also improve inmate transportation costs, rehabilitation and safety condition, and overall workflow efficiency.
