(Oakland) Tri-Center improved to 6-1 on the season with their 13-0 victory against Riverside in high school baseball on Tuesday.
The Trojans plated two runs in the 1st inning, six in the 3rd, two in the 4th, and tacked on three more in the 5th. Michael Turner went 2/4 with a solo home run, two steals, and two runs scored. Isaac Wohlhuter had an RBI double in the 1st inning and a two run single in the 3rd. Carter Kunze had a single and two RBI. Revin Bruck and Sean McGee each had one hit and one run batted in.
Isaac Wohlhuter was stingy on the mound. He struck out three batters and gave up two hits in 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Sean McGee racked up four K’s and allowed one hit in his 1 1/3 innings. Carter Kunze allowed one walk and no hits in a scoreless 5th inning.
Grady Jeppesen led a quiet Riverside offense with two hits. Victor Alfonso also had a single. Garrett Hough got the start on the hill and allowed four walks, four hits, and hit four batters. Kyler Rieken came on in relief and gave up six hits along with four walks and one hit batter.
Riverside drops to 1-3 on the season going into Thursday’s trip to IKM-Manning. Tri-Center hosts Treynor on Thursday night.
