(Dallas Center) One man was killed, and another suffered injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Dallas County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 9:46 this morning at 28506 East Highway 44 in Dallas County. The State Police identified the deceased as 69-year-old Michael Remus of Grimes. Julie Remus, of Grimes, was injured in the crash.
According to the report, a westbound 2021 Chevrolet pickup driven by Michael Remus slowed or stopped for other turning traffic on East Highway 44 when a westbound 2018 Kenworth Concrete mixer driven by 32-year-old Kodi Hoback of Grimes struck the rear of the pickup. Remus was deceased at the scene.
Dallas County EMS took Julie Remus, a passenger in the pickup, to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines for treatment of non-serious injuries.
